This has been on my heart to do for quite some time, so this year I finally organized a community event called Help-Portrait, where we take professional portraits of those in need, print them, and give them to them on the spot - all for free. We're doing this because we believe that people are valuable, and beautiful, and worthy of celebrating, and we want to show them that in a real and tangible way.
Help-Portrait is a global movement of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists using their time, tools and expertise to give back to those in need. It was founded by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart and Kyle Chowning in 2008.
